Here, at the end of the school year, Kendra doesn't need the magical milk to see creatures, and sees that the new student, who all her friends are crushing on, is a goblin-type thing. A man tricks the kids into thinking that he's a friend, and brings a curse on Seth. The kids are taken back to Fablehaven to stay with their grandparents, "while Grandpa's leg heels." they meet four more "friends," Coulter, Tanu, Vanessa, and later on, the Sphinx, an immortal "man" that is mysterious, and good. The children find out that Fablehaven is one of the five "secret" preserves, because it has more than just Satyrs, naiads, and ogres. The Society of the Evening Star that was mentioned in the first book is back, and trying to get the artifact off of the preserve. through this book, Seth becomes less of a frekishly stupid eleven year old boy, and more of just a moron. In the end, Seth saves the day, after learning of a traitor from the Society. Again, aside from his idiotness, (i don't care if that's a real word) Seth is my favorite Character, because Kendra's a wussy Loser, and this is one of my favorite book series. It was worth my time, and I think it's worth yours.
